What information we collect
The information we collect depends on how you interact with RunIt. During our website, research and free private-testing stage, this may include:
Contact and testing information
If you contact RunIt or ask to join private testing, we may collect your name or display name, phone number, WhatsApp account details made available to us and the messages or enquiries you send us.

We may collect information you provide about your age eligibility, UK residency, gaming platform, EA SPORTS FC playing habits, experience arranging matches, disputes or problems you have encountered, and your opinions about RunIt. Where we conduct research interviews, we may keep notes of your responses and use a participant number to reduce the use of your name in our research records.

If you take part in the RunIt private beta, we may collect account information you provide, challenge details such as the agreed format and rules, results and confirmations, and any screenshots or other evidence you choose to submit. We may also keep records of disputes, reports, administrative decisions and challenge history where needed to operate and test the service.

How we use your information and our lawful bases
We only use personal information where we have a lawful basis to do so. The lawful basis depends on why we are using the information.
Responding to enquiries and managing private testing
We use contact and testing information to respond to enquiries, assess interest in RunIt, communicate with potential testers and organise research or private-beta participation. We rely on our legitimate interests in developing RunIt, communicating with people who have chosen to contact us and managing our testing programme.

We use research responses, feedback and testing information to understand how players currently arrange competitive matches, identify problems, improve the RunIt service and decide which feautures to build. We rely on our legititmate interests in researching, developing and improving our products and services. We aim to use participant numbers and minimse the use of names in research records where reasonably possible.

We require service providers acting on our behalf to handle personal information appropriately and only for the purposes for which they are engaged.
International transfers
Some of the service providers we use may process or make personal information available outside the United Kingdom. Where this involves a restricted transfer under UK data protection law, we take steps to ensure that an appropriate transfer mechanism is in place.
Depending on the circumstances, this may include transferring information to a country covered by UK adequacy regulations or using appropriate contractual safeguards, such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or the UK Addendum to approved standard contractual clauses.
For example, our current hosting and communications providers may use infrastructure, affliates or subprocessors located outside the UK. Their applicable data-processing terms include mechanisms intended to protect personal information when international transfers take place.
You can contact us using the details in this Privacy Notice if you would like more information about the safeguards relevant to a particular transfer.

We keep personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes for which it was collected, including operating and evaluating RunIt, maintaining appropriate records, resolving disputes and meeting legal, regulatory or security requirements.
Research and testing enquiries
Information from people who contact us about research or private testing will generally be kept for up to 12 months after our last meaningful interaction with them, unless they become a RunIt tester or there is another reason described in this Privacy Notice to keep the information for longer.
Research records
Research notes and feedback will generally be kept for up to 24 months after the relevant research activity. Where reasonably possible, we will minimise identifying information or use participant numbers so that research findings can be retained without unnecessarily retaining names or other direct identifiers.
Private beta records
Information relating to participation in the private beta, including account, challenge, result, evidence, dispute and administrative records, will generally be kept for the duration of the private beta and for up to 24 months afterwards. We may keep particular records for longer where reasonably necessary to investigate misuse, resolve a dispute, protect users or RunIt, or establish, exercise or defend legal claims.
Technical and security information
Technical and security records are retained for periods appropriate to their purpose and may also be subject to the retention periods applied by our service providers. We do not retain this information for longer than reasonably necessary for security, troubleshooting and operation of the service.
When personal information is no longer required, we will delete it or anonymise it so that it can no longer be associated with an identifiable person.

We take appropriate technical and organisational measures designed to protect personal information against unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure, loss or destruction.
The measures we use will depend on the nature of the information and the systems involved. We also limit access to personal information to people and service providers who reasonably need it for the purposes described in this Privacy Notice.
